Musical Transportation Spree 10th Anniversary (Video)

When Chris Waterbury & Jerry celebrated 10 years broadcasts of their radio show The Musical Transportation Spree on July 28, 2001, video cameraman Casey Holt followed them into KFAI’s Minneapolis studios, thanks to him we have this clip. See and hear Chris & Jerry proudly look back on their history of presenting diverse home-recorded sound artists.  Watch:

Some tape voices from out of their past overheard: Earl Root from Root of All Evil; Minoy; Brian (ZXQ) Anderson; Hermanos Guzanos; Plastic Eye Miracle; Joe (Rudy Schwartz Project) Newman; Revlac; Bat Lenny & more.

Special gratitude to Greg Carr for digital conversion; also Blanche Fubar.

These half-wits matched wits on the air February 27, 1987 (KFAI, Minneapolis-St.Paul) and met again at a house party a year later February 13, 1988 as the tape recorder rolled capturing the event (photos) before a gathering of their friends (pardon some of the overripe sound levels). Little City in Space Syndicated Series Episode 12

FlyingSaucerMagThe centerpiece of the 12th national LCS program is Project: Bluesuit, a spoof of UFO cover-ups and rumors like Jackie Gleason‘s alien encounters. Joined on LCS-1 by the mysterious, unwelcome radio presence Master Control, it’s creepy for Halloween. Listen on Sound Affects Sunday October 26 between 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. (cst), available in KFAI archives two weeks following broadcast.

Audio wizard Brian Anderson (photo) co-created and mixed Project: Bluesuit, via his ZXQ Studios. Brian also created the alter ego, Alabama Neptune (UFO commentator) heard on LCS as well as on Brian’s KFAI radio series, ZXQ Universe (1990-1993).
