The Post-Void Radio Theater brings extraterrestrial entertainment down to earth thanks to KFAI’s Sound Affects, A Radio Playground on Sunday evening September 28 at 9:30 p.m. (cst)–SA’s host, Jerry Stearns, replays the classic series. Listen for job opportunities aboard satellite LCS-1, the News from Nowhere capped with the Paul Bunny Report; off-world sponsors like Hypno-Goggles and Outer Space Pets, and Stu Mathews takes his feeling tone translator to the moon.
Stu co-founded The Post-Void Radio Theater, which began as a script writing collective in 1977. Members created the Little City in Space show for KFAI starting broadcasts in December 1978.
Stu’s unique theatrical experiences began as child actor for The Bloomington Civic Theater, where he played the boy Winthrop Paroo in The Music Man (the role Ron Howard played in the 1963 film). Recently, Stu performed in a band with Mike Arturi (drummer for The Lovin’ Spoonful), shared the same stage with Jim Peterik (“Eye of the Tiger,” “Vehicle”), also acted in the radio play The Velveteen Submission with David Ossman of Firesign Theatre.
