Available for listening at archive.org: radio gems of Jerry with Charles Brin (1923-2016), whose acting credits include the movies Grumpy Old Men, A Serious Man and Inherit the Wind on Broadway.
Jerry’s original radio works featured Charles as Sherlock Holmes; portraying crafty Tolarr catapulting Dick Future and his Dancing Stool to the White House; Charles Brin reading Charles Fort; and Charles rapping Beat word-poetry as Lord Buckley hosting a TV kids show, Danny Phantom. Here’s a teaser, a clip of Charles Brin on Mechanical Spider Clinic as a zebra giving Mickey and Donald a tour of apartheid South Africa, in Jerry’s 1985 lampoon of Disney cartoon characters used as diplomats to foreign cultures.
Charles Brin has a nifty cameo as principal of a Hebrew school in The Coen Brothers’ “A Serious Man” (2009)
